Medium: wood(burnt surface) and hand-casted bronze chair legs

Carved from a single piece of wood, it preserves the natural imperfections, and history of the tree it came from. The exterior is charred by fire using the technique of wood burning, creating its deep black surface. The interior remains untouched, revealing the warmth and life of the wood beneath.

Its three legs are individually hand-cast in solid bronze. 

When creating the Sfera Chair, I chose to cast its legs in bronze from the form of a tree branch. The branch speaks of life in constant transformation—growth, change, and the quiet passage of time—while bronze represents the opposite: permanence, endurance, and something frozen beyond decay.

Together, these materials become a reflection of our own existence. Like wood, our bodies are finite, evolving, and destined to return to the earth. Yet our souls resemble bronze—timeless, enduring, and untouched by time itself.

This is the beginning of a new chapter for CIUCIU Collectible Furniture.
